ACONAV + Disney Collaboration

"Dreams really do come true..."

It came as a shock to be asked by Disney Imagineers to design something unique for their American Adventure Gallery at Epcot Center, in Orlando, Florida. I had no clue what was going on and didn't really believe it myself until I was handed an official "Disney" business card.

I am greatly honored to have been one of three artists to have this unique opportunity to design something specific for Walt Disney World. Opening June 30th is the new exhibition; Creating Traditions: Innovation & Change in Native American Art, featuring a one of a kind ACONAV designed gown directly and authentically inspired by a traditional Acoma Pueblo olla, chosen from the vaults of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture of Santa Fe, NM. A first of it's kind for me and a very welcoming challenge. This design incorporates everything that I've always wanted to explore in my fashion talents and truly represents my Acoma Pueblo culture both respectfully & responsibly.

In all, this is a dream come true! To share my talents with so many viewers who will see my creation on display for the next few years is nothing short of AMAZING. A great thank you to the Disney Corporation for this grand opportunity and to those who sought me out for my work in fashion design. Enjoy these images of the one of kind design titled Ancient Resonance, modeled by our very own ACONAV model, Kiara Jones. Photography by Daniel Martinez, Styling by Alana Yazzie (The Fancy Navajo), Hair & Make Up by Toy Taylor (The Creative Toy Box), Jewelry by Turquoise Hogan.

This is sure to inspire the next collection of designs. Many thanks for the continued support and fandom! Da'wa'eh Hauba! (Thank you all)
